Car Accident Pics

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration , there are over 6,000,000 car accidents each year in the United States, resulting in almost 2,600,000 injuries. That’s an accident every 5 seconds and an injury every 12 seconds!

Car accident injuries range from minor to fatal. Even with a 2% decline last year, there were still more than 42,000 killed in car crashes. That amounts to about 115 fatalities per day . . . one death every 13 minutes.

In addition to their human toll, accidents are estimated to cost the U.S. economy more than $230 billion per year.

As breathtaking as those statistics are, they are not as dramatic as these car accident pics in showing how horrific car accidents can be.

I view these photos regularly to remind myself why I am driving carefully and defensively every time I get behind the wheel.
